Super Fall-y Friday Favorites: chewy chocolate chip cookies, apple cider sangria, and where I'm
favorite chewy chocolate chip cookies: what sort of saint do you have to be to only put the 1 cup of chocolate chips that the recipe calls for? Does anyone follow this rule? Does anyone even measure out chocolate chips? Anyway, here's my favorite chewy chocolate chip recipe (don't worry, I don't limit you to a cup of chocolate chips, put the whole dang bag):
Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon molasses
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups quick-cooking oats
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
pinch of nutmeg
1 cup to 1 bag of chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, molasses and vanilla; beat well.
Sift the flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop onto greased baking sheets.
Bake for 9-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
